Care Guide

If treated right, our jewelry will last a lifetime.

Tips for daily wearing.

At Codeville, we believe your jewelry should be cherished for a lifetime.
To preserve its brilliance and integrity, we recommend these simple but essential practices:

Tip 1

Chlorine is gold’s greatest adversary. Prolonged exposure weakens its structure, so always remove your jewellery before entering pools, spas, or hot tubs.

Tip 2

Gold is a naturally soft and precious metal, making it more vulnerable to scratches, dings, and dents. Remove your rings when performing any activities that could put them at risk.

Tip 3

Soaps and shampoos can leave a dulling residue on your jewelry. To maintain its radiant shine, take it off before showering or bathing.

Tip 4

Household cleaning products, particularly those containing acids or abrasives, can compromise your jewelry’s finish. Always remove or cover your pieces while cleaning.

Tip 5

Make your jewelry the last step in your routine. Perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and cosmetics can all diminish gold’s natural luster. Apply them first, then adorn yourself.

Cleaning tips.

Gold jewelry is a timeless investment. One that deserves meticulous care to preserve its brilliance. Daily exposure to skin oils, cosmetics, and environmental elements can diminish its luster, but with the right care, your pieces will remain radiant for generations.

Tip 1

Prepare a solution of 10 parts warm water to 2 parts mild dish soap. Immerse your jewelry for approximately 20 minutes, then delicately polish with an ultra-soft brush. Rinse with clean water and carefully pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Never use paper tissues or towels, as their fibers may leave micro-scratches on the surface.

Tip 2

Gold does not require excessive cleaning. Reserve at-home care for moments when your pieces appear visibly dulled or when a natural patina has developed. Over-cleaning may reduce the longevity of your jewelry’s finish.

Tip 3

Rubbing alcohol is an excellent option for sanitizing and refreshing your jewelry’s shine. However, never use bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can permanently damage gold.

Tip 4

During each cleaning, take time to examine your jewellery closely. If you notice loose stones, weakened clasps, or other signs of damage, set the piece aside. Cleaning or polishing a damaged jewel may worsen the problem.

Tip 5

Even with attentive care at home, jewelry benefits from a professional cleaning and inspection once per year. Our specialists ensure every detail, from the polish of the metal to the security of the settings, is preserved to the highest standard.
